Scheduled Maintenance and Calibration
Maintaining abrasive blasting equipment is crucial for compliance with the Pressure Equipment (Safety) Regulations 2016. Scheduled maintenance and calibration ensure your equipment is fit for use and has the correct and current test documentation. Our technicians and engineers follow regulated inspection procedures to ensure all equipment is safe and maintained to legal standards.
Only authorised personnel are permitted to inspect and service abrasive blasting equipment. Our team of technicians and engineers is trained to exacting standards, ensuring your equipment is reliable when you need it most.
Recommended Inspection Schedules
Inspection and testing are vital for workplace safety. Our stringent inspection and testing procedures ensure the protection of you, your team, and your business.
Grit Blasting Machines (Blast Pots)
According to HSE guidelines, blast pots must be pressure tested every 22 months. Pressure vessels can be dangerous when worn and must be inspected and tested regularly. Operators should perform daily and weekly checks as part of best practices.
Breathing Apparatus & Respiratory Equipment
Blast helmet respirators should be inspected daily, sanitised and cleaned, and serviced annually.
Airline Breathing Equipment
HSE regulations require breathing air tests every 400 hours or every three months, whichever comes first. These tests are essential for manufacturers and contractors working in hazardous environments. Employers must ensure these tests are performed to protect their employees.
Gas Detectors
Gas monitors, such as GVS RPB GX4, need calibration after prolonged usage, typically every 6 months to 2 years, depending on the manufacturer’s recommendations. If your monitor fails a bump test, send it to us for service.
Air Compressors
Air compressors should be serviced annually or every 2,000 hours, whichever comes first, based on activity levels.
Expert Support
Our team of engineers and technicians has extensive skills and knowledge in all aspects of abrasive blasting, including testing and servicing. They undergo rigorous training and regular audits to ensure competence. Additionally, our technical teams provide full support to all technicians and engineers.
