Supporting Global Excellence: Airblast AFC Blast Booth Installed at Johnson Thermal Systems’ New Facility in Idaho
The data centre boom continues to reshape the digital infrastructure landscape across the United States – and Johnson Thermal Systems (JTS) is right at the heart of it. The company has just opened a new 172,000-square-foot manufacturing facility in Nampa, Idaho, dedicated to producing generator enclosures for critical backup power systems.
We’re proud to see our US colleagues at Airblast AFC play a key role in this expansion by designing, supplying, and installing the industrial blast and spray facilities at the new site.
Why this matters
JTS’s generator enclosures will support mission-critical sectors where downtime simply isn’t an option. That’s why surface preparation and finishing are so crucial. The blast and spray systems provided by Airblast AFC ensure each enclosure is finished to the highest standards for performance, protection, and reliability.
Key benefits of the facility:
- Surface preparation for durability: The blast booth removes mill scale, welding residue and other contaminants, preparing steel surfaces to SA2.5 cleanliness and ensuring coatings last longer in tough outdoor environments.
- Corrosion protection: With enclosures often exposed to the elements, high-performance coatings applied in a controlled booth environment are vital to prevent corrosion and maintain structural integrity.
- Optimised acoustic and thermal properties: Properly prepped surfaces allow for better adhesion of insulation and sound attenuation materials, improving performance and compliance in sensitive areas.
- Professional-grade finish: The precision-engineered paint booth delivers a consistent, high-quality finish that reflects both JTS’s and their clients’ commitment to excellence.
- Regulatory compliance: From fire safety to environmental standards, the installed systems help JTS meet stringent industry requirements.
This project is a fantastic example of how Airblast solutions are being used globally to support modern manufacturing, critical infrastructure, and long-term reliability.
Part of a global network
At Airblast, we’re proud to be part of a group that’s helping businesses like JTS push forward with confidence. The installation in Nampa demonstrates the value of expertly engineered blast and paint systems – and the shared expertise across our international teams.
With further developments already on the horizon for JTS, we’re excited to see what’s next for our colleagues at Airblast AFC and how Airblast technology continues to power progress around the world.
