Scheduled Maintenance and Calibration
Maintaining a blast facility is crucial for compliance with HSG258 – Controlling airborne contaminants at work. Preventative maintenance and inspections ensure your facility is fit for use and maintains up-to-date test documentation. Our technicians follow regulated inspection procedures to ensure all systems and components meet legal standards. Our team, trained to the highest standards, ensures your blast facility remains reliable and compliant.
Recommended Inspection Schedules
Regular inspection, servicing, and testing are vital for workplace safety and efficiency. Our exacting procedures ensure you’re in safe hands.
Airline Breathing Equipment
HSE regulations require breathing air tests every 400 hours or three months, whichever comes first. These tests are mandatory for manufacturers and contractors in hazardous environments to protect employees from the risks of compromised air.
Gas Detectors
Gas monitors, such as the GVS RPB GX4, require calibration every 6 months to 2 years, depending on the model. Follow the manufacturer’s guidelines for calibration schedules. If a monitor fails a bump test, send it to us for servicing.
Air Compressors
Air compressors should be serviced annually or every 2,000 hours, whichever comes first, based on activity levels.
LEV Testing and Inspection
HSE legislation mandates regular maintenance and inspection of LEV systems. Daily checks by operators and weekly or monthly checks by safety officers and supervisors are necessary. LEV systems require thorough examination every 14 months to comply with UK health and safety standards.
Grit Blasting Machines (Blast Pots)
Blast pots must be pressure tested every 22 months according to HSE guidelines. Regular inspections, including daily and weekly checks by operators, ensure safety. Airblast engineers can conduct these examinations on-site or at our facility.
